OCTOBER:
Loran Scholarship - The Loran Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship for grade 12 students who excel in their studies and who have the integrity and courage to make difficult decisions, the perseverance to work towards long-term goals, the curiosity to better understand the world around them and the drive to make positive change in their communities. Please see Ms. Dempster if you are interested in this scholarship. Deadline to submit an application to Ms. Dempster is Oct. 9th.
University of Toronto National Scholarship
Students planning on attending University of Toronto in 2019 and meeting the following criteria are welcome to speak with Ms. Dempster regarding this award.
Th criteria: demonstration of superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. Candidates should also have an enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and significant involvement in the life of FRC and community. If interested, please see Ms. Dempster ASAP. Deadline is Oct. 25th.
National Book Award
The National Book Award Program recognizes and rewards the very best Canadian secondary school students, regardless of which university those students choose to attend. These are students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities. Students must be nominated by the school. Please see Ms. Dempster ASAP.
NOVEMBER:
TD Scholarships for Community Leadership - Grade 12 students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply for this prestigious scholarship valued at $70,000: Students are planning to attend a college or university in the fall of 2019, have a minimum 75% average, and have shown exceptional community leadership. See Ms. Dempster ASAP for more information. The application deadline is November 25th.
University of Manitoba Leader of Tomorrow - Grade 12 students who meet the following criteria are asked to see Ms. Dempster in order to be qualified to apply.BMO Financial Group Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships will be offered to students who:
- have achieved a high school average of at least 90 percent calculated on the basis of results in (or equivalent courses for Canadian students outside of Manitoba):
- English 30S or Français 30S and Anglais 30S
- Mathematics 30S (either pre-calculus 30S or applied 30S only)
- the highest marks in three of Biology 30S, Chemistry 30S, Physics 30S, History 30F, Geography 30S, Computer Science 30s, or a language at the 30S level other than those accepted for (a) above;
- have demonstrated evidence of leadership qualities and future potential;
- have demonstrated evidence of a high level of communication skills;
- have a record of community involvement (e.g., school, local community city-wide, regional, national, international);
- have demonstrated evidence of special abilities other than those shown by academic results (e.g., artistic, athletic, or linguistic skills, literary accomplishments);
- have completed a University of Manitoba application for admission by the December 1 deadline, including payment of application fee.

DECEMBER:
UBC Centennial Scholarship
The UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Award program assists students in transition from secondary school and other post-secondary institutions tUBC. The purpose of this program is to support academically qualified students who show an interest in joining the UBC community, but who would not otherwise be able to attend without significant financial assistance. Deadline is Dec. 1st.
The Schulich Leader Scholarship - The Schulich Leader Award is a prestigious award for grade 12 students interested in pursuing a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) at one of the partner universities listed on the website.
Nominees must possess at least two of three criteria:
1. Academic excellence
2. Outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership.
3. Financial need**If interested, students must speak with Ms. Dempster.
Burger King Scholars Program
Applications now available. Apply early to receive $1000 to $50,000.
Deadline is Dec. 15, 2018
JANUARY:
STEAM AWARDS:
Are you often described as a leader, an achiever, or an innovator? Do you have limitless drive, ambition, and determination? If so, there’s an opportunity to receive a $25,000 prize towards your post-secondary education.The STEAM Horizon Awards recipients will have inspiring achievements in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. These achievements could be formally recognized – a science fair win, a published app, a patented invention, etc. or they could be less formally recognized – the founding of a local coding club, developing a course for kids, or creating a local interactive art installation. Regardless of the accomplishment, it must reflect passion and illustrate a positive impact on the community. Deadline is January 16, 2019. Please see your counsellor if interested.
FEBRUARY:
Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards are open to students of all abilities.
To be considered for the Award, applicants must meet be:
- In good academic standing.
- Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
- Students graduating from secondary (high) school
- Involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated).
- Planning to or are already studying towards their first university degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution
- If applying, please see Ms. Dempster or Ms. Girardin
- Deadline is Feb. 1st
Kin Canada Bursaries - Will be evaluated on their community and school involvement, knowledge of Kin Canada and financial need. Deadline is Feb. 1st.
United Way Youth Leaders in Action Scholarship
$500 is available to students who have made a difference in the lives of others. Deadline is Feb. 19th
MARCH:
reminder: Deadline for Entrance Scholarships is March 1st - No extra application needed, University application must be submitted and paid for.
Stacey Levitt Memorial Award - The Levitt family awards each year's selected recipient $2,500 in funding to help them live their life to the fullest. The award could be put towards an educational endeavour, engagement in sports, or investment in a travel experience – all pursuits that would have resonated with Stacey. Award recipients are expected to write a reflection on the impact of the funding on their life, due within one year of the distribution of funds. Deadline is March .
RE/MAX Quest for Life bursary -
$1000 bursaries are available. Students are to convey the contributions they have made to their communities in a short online essay. Deadline is March 11th.
Marc Lynch Scholarship - This Scholarship is intended for Mechanical Contractors Association Member companies’ staff and families. It will be awarded to students pursuing their first year of a post- secondary program (in the fall-term following the deadline of this application) in any recognized educational institution.
Business Council of Manitoba Aboriginal Education Awards -
If you are of Aboriginal ancestry you are eligible to apply for a Business Council of Manitoba Aboriginal Education Award provided you meet the following criteria;
- You are a citizen of Canada and permanent resident of Manitoba, having resided in Manitoba for the last 12 months
- You plan to enroll in one of the recognized and authorized Manitoba post-secondary institutions in the upcoming academic year, in any discipline (trades, business, general studies, science, etc.)
- You maintain fulltime status (at least a 60% course load)
- You are in need of financial assistance
APRIL:
Centennial Entrance Scholarship
In 2018, up to 12 Agricultural and Food Sciences Centennial Entrance Scholarships valued at $2000 each will be awarded to Manitoba high school students who plan to enter the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the University of Manitoba.
Deadline is April 1st.
Retail as a Career Scholarship Program - 20 Scholarships available!
Who is eligible to apply? To be considered for one of the scholarships applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled full-time or part-time at a Canadian college or university Fall 2019
- Pursuing a retail, business, fashion, marketing or any other program of study that has ties to the retail industry post secondary program
- Currently working part-time or full-time within the retail industry
Mark & Dorothy Danzker Scholarship for Excellence
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION
- Demonstrate an active involvement in preserving cultural heritage. This may be done through volunteer work or employment within Canada. It may involve any cultural heritage.
- Volunteer in a cultural activity in the general community.
- Perform well academically with an average of 75% (3.0 GPA) or better
CPA High School Scholarship
The CPA Manitoba Foundation is pleased to award the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) High School Scholarships to graduating high school students in Manitoba. Up to thirteen scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each will be awarded, including six awards specifically for students from rural Manitoba.
- Grade 12 students planning to attend a Manitoba university
- Overall average of 80% in Grades 10 to 12 (based on the most current available information).
- Has an interest in a career in accounting or business.
- Is involved in school and community activities.
- Has strong communications skills.

Manitoba Young Liberals Scholarship
The Manitoba Young Liberal Scholarships are open to youth aged 16 to 25 who are entering, or are currently enrolled in, a Manitoba post-secondary institution.

The Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba proudly offers a technical scholarship for all graduating students pursuing education/training at a technical college and have been impacted by epilepsy or seizure disorder. Please feel free to add this link to any scholarship listings you may have.
Mayor’s Scholarship for Community Service
The Mayor’s Scholarship for Community Leadership will award up to five (5) $1,000 scholarships to recognize the achievements of Winnipeg’s young leaders and support them to reach their educational and career goals.
Who is eligible?
- High school graduates with a minimum overall grade average of 70%
- Those entering their first year in post-secondary education on a full-time basis at a recognized college or university in the City of Winnipeg
- Those who have made a significant contribution to Winnipeg and demonstrated outstanding community leadership
CUPE Local 4588:
To be awarded to the son, daughter, grandchild (if member is the legal guardian), stepchild or a child of legal guardianship of a member in good standing of CUPE Local 4588 attending school in Pembina Trails School Division. All applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Grade twelve (12) average of seventy-five percent (75%) or higher, based on an average of five (5) full credit grade twelve (12) subjects
- Continue his/her education at a recognized post-secondary institution of his/her choice;

MC College Creative Scholarship
To recognize High School students demonstrating outstanding creativity and community involvement.
- To assist students in their endeavor to enter a career in the Salon or Spa Industry.
Deadline is June 30th.
Fairfax Award -
Three annual bursaries each valued at $5,000 are offered to Canadian high school students who:
- are Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada;
- have graduated from a Canadian high school or CEGEP no longer than 18 months prior to the start of the 2017-2018 academic session;
- have demonstrated financial need based on a government student loan assessment from their home province (MB students must include the first & second page of the Notice of Assistance letter, web version copies are NOT accepted) and have completed a University of Manitoba Fairfax bursary application;
- will register for full-time study (minimum 18 credit hours) in any faculty or school at the University of Manitoba that admits students directly from high school
- have achieved a minimum average of 80% on their high school courses used for admission.
- Deadline is July 15th
· Full or partial Filipino parentage
· Overall grade average of 90% or higher
· Leadership involvement in the school or community

July:
National Union of Public and General Employees is offering four scholarships of $1500 each to students who plan to enter their first year of post-secondary education and who are children/grandchildren of a National Union member. Deadline is July 6, 2018
La Lupa Di Roma Scholarship
As part of its ongoing commitment to the community, Sons of Italy grants a $1,000 scholarship annually to students entering post-secondary education or post graduate studies.
To qualify for the La Lupa Di Roma Scholarship , an applicant must have at least one parent/grandparent of Italian origin and after completing grade 12, be a full time student entering an institution that offers university, college or special ability programs. Deadline is Sept. 1, 2018
